Description

A vintage quill and inlay box crafted from wood and bamboo, finished with a rich lacquer, showcases a distinctive design element where natural quill is meticulously integrated into the structure. The box features a striking geometric pattern formed by alternating strips of bamboo and quill, bordered by narrow lacquered wood panels. Each panel is punctuated with small, precise dots of inlay, which add a subtle contrast and elevate the linear design. The lacquer finish remains original, with a warm, soft patina that speaks to the piece's age while retaining a vibrant sheen. Minor surface scuffs are visible, primarily at the edges, consistent with gentle use over time. The structure of the box is robust, with no visible repairs or losses, ensuring both aesthetic and functional integrity. This piece measures 11.5 inches in width, 4.75 inches in height, and 8.25 inches in depth, making it an ideal size for a decorative yet practical storage solution. The craftsmanship is evident in the careful alignment of the quill inlays and the seamless finish of the lacquer, which together create a visually captivating and tactile experience. This box is a testament to the skillful blending of materials and meticulous attention to detail.
