Description
This exceptional vintage studio pottery vase is a masterclass in Brutalist form and Wabi-Sabi philosophy. Crafted with a sculptural, spherical "lunar" silhouette, the piece features a heavily textured, oxidized surface that evokes the rugged, primeval terrain of a celestial body. The deep, metallic bronze and charcoal tones are punctuated by a contrasting cream-colored rim at the tapered opening, showcasing a sophisticated mastery of kiln firing and glaze chemistry. Its raw, architectural aesthetic makes it a compelling focal point for a curated Mid-Century Modern, contemporary, or global-inspired interior. Perfectly proportioned as a tabletop accent, this vessel measures 4.75” W × 4.75” D × 4.25” H. A distinctive horizontal groove at the midline highlights its hand-thrown origins and adds a layer of geometric interest to its organic form. It remains in great vintage condition, exhibiting minor surface variations and a rich, authentic patina that only serves to enhance its soulful, artisanal character. Whether displayed as a standalone sculpture or used for an understated botanical arrangement, this unique vessel is an essential acquisition for the discerning ceramic collector. Add this rare piece of studio history to your collection today.
