Description

This captivating pair of petite studio pottery vessels showcases highly textured, expressive forms with intentionally uneven rims, reflecting an organic, abstract approach to ceramics popular in the Mid-Century era. Both are finished in a phenomenal, heavily-applied, high-gloss indigo blue "flambe" glaze. Embedded within this rich blue base are delicate speckled details in red and yellow, creating the effect of stylized, fiery blossoms across the surfaces. This combination of deep color, textural body, and vibrant accents makes them exquisite decorative objects. These small vases are perfect for showcasing single stem blooms, holding small supplies on a desk, or adding a rich color accent to a bookshelf vignette. They vary slightly in size, measuring approximately 4.75 inches wide by 4.25 inches deep by 4.75 inches tall and 4 inches wide by 4.5 inches deep by 5.25 inches tall. They are in great vintage condition; the deep, glossy glaze is well-preserved, with the artistic variations and inconsistencies inherent to the hand-applied finish serving as authentic patina. These unique sculptures are ready to grace a sophisticated collection.
