Description
This authentic piece of vintage studio pottery exemplifies the organic, handcrafted aesthetic popular in the mid-to-late 20th century. Hand-thrown from heavy stoneware, this unique skillet bowl features an earthy, textured base glaze in rich tan and brown tones, contrasted beautifully by spontaneous horizontal striations of deep cobalt blue. The craftsmanship is evident in the robust form, the practical pouring spout, and the signature handle, which showcases a distinctive wrap of vibrant blue glaze. Signed with initials (likely "RW") on the base, this functional piece highlights the artistry and individuality characteristic of the Studio Pottery movement. Ideal for collectors seeking rustic elegance, this item functions perfectly as unique serveware—such as a gravy boat or dipping bowl—or as a compelling decorative accent on an open shelf. The piece measures 9 inches wide (including the handle), 7 inches deep (bowl diameter), and stands 2.5 inches high. It is offered in excellent vintage condition, exhibiting the natural variations and slight imperfections inherent to hand-built ceramics, which contribute significantly to its unique character. Acquire this functional piece of ceramic history for your collection today.
