Description

Crafted from bent rattan, this vintage swivel lounge chair exhibits a mid-century modern flair with its organic form and inventive design. The rattan structure showcases a warm, honeyed patina, indicative of age and careful preservation. Notably, the chair incorporates inset flip-down glass side tables, seamlessly integrated into the design, providing functional elegance. The complex interplay of curves within the rattan framework contributes to its visual appeal, while the swivel base allows for flexible positioning. The seat and back cushions, upholstered in a rich red fabric, appear original, exhibiting some natural fading yet maintaining their vibrant hue and integrity. The fabric texture suggests durability and comfort, complementing the chair's inviting form. Minor scuffs and wear on the base and armrests reflect typical usage, adding character without compromising the chair's overall aesthetic. Dimensions of 37 inches in width and 59.5 inches in height make this piece a substantial presence in any setting. The chair's design balances aesthetic appeal with practical functionality, as demonstrated by the flip-down tables, which enhance its versatility. This piece stands as an exceptional example of mid-century innovation in rattan furniture design.
