Description

This unique vintage studio pottery lidded bowl is a striking example of mid-century artisanal craftsmanship, blending organic form with a bold, experimental glaze. The vessel features a captivating drip-glaze finish in a palette of deep cobalt blue, mossy green, and warm ochre, creating a fluid, abstract aesthetic that feels both modern and primitive. Hand-thrown with twin integrated handles and a matching lid, the piece possesses a tactile, substantial quality that celebrates the beauty of handcrafted imperfections. Its design reflects a fusion of Wabi-Sabi philosophy and regional pottery traditions, making it a soulful addition to any contemporary kitchen, dining table, or curated gallery display. Measuring 10.75 inches wide (including handles), 8.25 inches deep, and 6.75 inches tall, this versatile piece is ideal for use as a sculptural centerpiece or a functional serving dish for the sophisticated home. The bowl is in great vintage condition, showing age-appropriate wear and minor surface variations that are characteristic of the hand-glazing process. These subtle blemishes serve as an authentic patina, highlighting its storied history as a one-of-a-kind work. A hand-incised mark on the underside further confirms its status as an original artist-made work. We invite you to add this distinctive piece of ceramic history to your collection today.
